We are a bee-keeping family. Since 1983, we have been working professionally in the bee-keeping sector. Over all these years, thanks to our hard work and a love of bees, we have managed to build strong relationships with our customers, founded on trust. We take a responsible approach to the entire process of making honey from the hive to consumers, meaning we can ensure the high quality and authenticity of our honey.
Today, our company is one of the leading honey producers in Cyprus. In 2020 we opened a new, modern honey bottling centre. It is located near the village of Melini in Larnaca district. The new honey farm can also host several events like wedding parties and baptisms. It has two rooms where honey is processed and bottled, a video screening room where visitors can watch videos about our history and a reception area and tasting room. Our honey farm produces bee cosmetics, honey products and the famous Cyprus Honey “Oros Machaira”. Over recent years, the quality of our honey has been recognised, winning us international awards.
Cypriot honey comes 100% from flower nectar. In Cyprus there is no honey from honeydew. This sets Cypriot honey apart, and is responsible for that unique aroma that it is renowned for.
It’s for that reason that over recent years, Cypriot honey has always ranked top in international honey quality competitions.
The characteristic flowers of Cyprus from which Cypriot honey comes are the yellow bugle, germander, wild lavender, myrtle, sumac, and of course orange and thyme. Moreover, Cypriot bee-keepers have obtained quality certification for Cypriot honey. All Cypriot bee-keepers who want the certification mark from the Bee-keepers Association subject their honey to strict quality controls to ensure that good apiculture practices are used; practices that do not affect the quality of honey throughout its journey from the hive to the consumer.
