7 summer cocktails with honey!
Honey is sweet, it doesn’t spoil and – of course – it is the ideal ingredient for your next cocktail, replacing sugar. Its density and the depth of its flavour can balance out the taste of the remaining ingredients in the best way, while other sweeteners, such as syrup or agave nectar, “fade” behind the strong taste of the alcohol.
As time goes by, bartenders everywhere increasingly prefer honey to sweeten or “bind” their cocktails. Clickatlife.gr has gathered for you some of the most delightful cocktails with honey. Ask for them on your next night out or try to make them yourself and… have fun!
53 For The S.P.
Honey is the “glue” that unifies this drink, in which even the most demanding connoisseurs will recognise the body and rich flavour it leaves in the mouth. Rum, fresh lime juice, honey and bitters. Shake everything together and serve in a chilled cocktail cup. Garnish with a slice of lime.
Wax Poetic

This cocktail is based on the same logic as the “Bees Knees”, so you will need either vodka or a gin. Mix your alcohol together with ice, honey and lemon juice and serve it in a chilled martini glass.
Bricks and Ivy
Just what you need on a hot summer day, Bricks and Ivy promises to cool you down as much as possible. You will need vodka, St. Germain liqueur, honey, fresh lime juice and a little finely chopped cucumber. Shake all the ingredients together and serve over ice in a whisky glass. At the end, add soda and garnish with a slice of cucumber.
Ms Camille
This cocktail – which took its name from Hurricane Camille – is a variation of the French 75. Use a single barrel bourbon, chamomile liqueur, fresh lemon juice and honey. Shake, strain and add a little champagne. Garnish with a lemon peel.
The Gold Rush
Yes, there is a way to drink whisky when the heat sets in – and we don’t mean simply adding ice to it. Shake whisky, fresh lemon juice and honey and serve in a whisky glass filled with ice cubes.
Devil’s Advocate

If you like cocktails with… heart, you must definitely try this one! In this case, the honey will be needed to balance out the particularly spicy aftertaste the peppers give (!). You will use bourbon, fresh lemon juice, honey, 2 finely chopped hot chilli peppers, a few drops of Angostura bitters and ginger beer. Mix the peppers with the bourbon and the lemon inside the shaker, add ice and shake it well. Serve in a glass with ice, after straining, and at the end add ginger beer, a little more finely chopped pepper and bitters. Garnish with a hot pepper, on top of the ice cubes.
Nice Melons
Based on a non-alcoholic cocktail, “Nice Melons” with vodka, white vermouth, pureed melon, fresh lemon juice and honey of course, is the best thing to cool down your summer nights. Simply shake your ingredients together with ice and serve in a tall, narrow glass.
