Like pollen and honey, royal jelly is one of the natural treasures produced by bees, with the difference that it is produced exclusively to feed the queen! It is the royal food par excellence, which serves to give the queen enough energy for rapid growth as well as for the production of thousands of eggs every day.

What is royal jelly

Royal jelly is a substance produced by the hypopharyngeal glands located in the head of worker bees. The bees use a combination of enzymes and proteins to produce a mixture which is then combined with pollen and placed in the queen’s hexagonal cell. It is food exclusively for the queen and the larvae. It is rich in vitamins, minerals and amino acids. The main components of royal jelly are water, sugars, lipids, proteins and minerals.

Composition and characteristics

• It contains water, proteins, sugars, lipids, B-group vitamins, amino acids and minerals.

• It is also used by the cosmetics industry as an ingredient in skincare products.

• It has a characteristic creamy texture, a white to pale yellow colour and a slightly acidic taste.

• It is sensitive to heat and light, which is why it is always kept refrigerated.

• It is eaten in small amounts — around one gram a day.

• Ours is collected by our own beekeepers and sold fresh, with no processing.

Please note

As a bee product, anyone with an allergy to bee products or with asthma should consult their doctor before eating it.

Amount

There is a dosing measure in each package for the consumption of approximately one gram per day.
